Sometimes all it takes is one very generous donation to "make our day". Sweltering heat, fewer donors, but another week's bounty from Giuseppe's back yard vegetable garden, a garden that mimics the same style found in Italy. It features rows of tomato plants ( of course!) of different varieties, zucchini, cucumbers, green beans, onions, chards, lettuces, herbs, as well as fig, apple, peach and even persimmon trees; and a couple of rain barrels to catch the rain from the gutters connected to an elaborate watering system of hoses woven through the beds. Efficient, attractive, and so productive! Tante grazie, Giuseppe! Our Neighbor-to-Neighbor Food Drives , Tuesdays, from 9-11 at St. Catherine's continue to provide supplemental non-perishables and other essentials like personal care products and household cleaning products, too. If more convenient, drop off in the vestibules of St. Catherine's or St. Agnes during weekend Masses. No more egg cartons needed.
